Pricing guide

How much does a dental practice website cost?

A dental website has two prices: what it costs to build and what it costs every month after that. People tend to compare only the first one. Here's how both work, with my own prices as a reference.

One-off cost: building the site

What you pay up front depends mostly on how many pages you need, how many languages and who writes the texts.

  • Pages. A small practice can do well with one strong page: treatments, opening hours, emergency info, how to register and a contact form. Bigger practices add pages for the team, prices or each location.
  • Languages. In the Netherlands a lot of patients prefer English. A second language almost doubles the text, so it costs more.
  • Texts and photos. If you supply both, the build is faster. If the designer writes base texts from a questionnaire, that's part of the price.
  • Booking. Linking to your existing booking system is simple. A full embed depends on the system.

Monthly cost: keeping it online

After launch the site needs hosting, an SSL certificate, backups and someone who notices when it's down. Some builders include this, some charge for it separately, and some leave it to you. Ask before you sign.

Costs people forget

  • The domain name. Register it in your own name so it stays yours.
  • A subscription for an online booking or patient system, if you use one.
  • Photography. Your own photos of the practice work better than stock images of models in white coats.
  • Changes later on: new opening hours, a new dentist, a holiday notice.

Hosting and maintenance is optional: $25 a month for hosting, SSL, backups and an uptime check, or $49 a month with up to 1 hour of text and photo updates each month. Extra page $15, extra language $25. Prices in USD.

Delivery days start when the questionnaire, texts or notes and photos are complete. Going live on your domain depends on your DNS access.

What you should get for the money

  • A phone number you can tap, on every page.
  • Opening hours and what to do in a dental emergency outside them.
  • Whether you take new patients, and how to register.
  • A fast page on a phone. Most patients will see it there first.
  • No trackers or cookie banners you don't need.

The dental website page has the full package list and a fictional demo practice, Tandartspraktijk Kwartelhaven, so you can see what it looks like before you pay.
