Why Autocomplete still matters
Keyword tools that sell volume are useful, but they miss a lot of long-tail phrasing. Autocomplete shows real query completions people see as they type. That is gold for FAQ pages, video titles, blog outlines and ads sitelinks.
A simple manual workflow
- Write 5 to 10 seeds in the words your buyer would use.
- Type each seed into Google and note the dropdown lines worth keeping.
- Try question prefixes: how, what, why, when, where, best, vs.
- Try A-Z for one or two important seeds when you need breadth.
- Deduplicate into a sheet and mark intent: info, compare, buy.
Doing this by hand for one product is fine. Doing it for a whole niche every month is where people give up.
What you can automate
The public suggest endpoint returns the same phrases the dropdown shows. A small script can:
- Hit each seed (and optional A-Z / question variants)
- Keep unique suggestions with a rank per response
- Tag language and country (
hl/gl) - Export CSV or JSON for your content calendar
Stay polite: a short delay between queries, a hard cap on how many you fire per run, and proxy only if Google rate-limits you.
Want to run it yourself?
Rather run it yourself? My Actor on the Apify Store, pay per use: Google Autocomplete SEO Keywords (opens in a new tab). Paste a seed list, optionally expand A-Z or question prefixes, and get unique suggestion rows. Pricing is $0.0005 per unique suggestion. Keyword phrases only, no personal data.
Also useful next to it: the ATS job feed (opens in a new tab) if hiring pages are part of your research, and all my Actors (opens in a new tab).
If you'd rather get a brief
Need seeds turned into a short content or video brief instead of raw rows? Email studio@kayorama.nl or use the quote form. I keep the same rule: keyword research, not personal lead lists.
